DLS TRIO
The DLS Trio is an instrumental trio from Ottawa, Canada. Featuring Deniz Lim-Sersan (piano), José Monchito Garcia (drums) and Chris Pond (bass) the bond of friendship and trust becomes evident in their music, allowing them to venture deep into the music and explore sound with vulnerability and creativity.
Although their style defies a definite genre, the trio heavily takes from the tradition of jazz taking influence from modern jazz acts like Robert Glasper, GoGo Penguin, Aaron Parks and Herbie Hancock. Blending acoustic and electric elements the trio flows between head nodding grooves and soulful melodies bringing brilliant unexpected moments from their group improvisation and individual virtuosity.
In 2023 the DLS Trio is finishing their debut album 138 NDI, a collection of originals from Deniz & Chris with their signature mix of acoustic ballads recorded in a beautiful church, to hard electro songs with synthesizers and more. Stay tuned for more announcements about a release date.
